Is it Friday yet? We are almost there. It has been a long, wonderful week. And I can’t believe I’ve been writing for 6 consecutive days. I’ve been reading the Bible everyday for these last 6 days and writing my thoughts on it. If you’d like to read more about why I started doing this, you can go here.
I’m very thankful to God and I’m learning more about His word but I also want to follow through and practice what I learn. That is one of the reasons why I’m writing these posts as well, so that I can better remember what I read and to let it sink in. I’m getting so much better a managing my responses whenever something happens around the house, if it’s bad. I tend to have these moments of explosions when something doesn’t go the way I want, but with little children running around the place, I can’t really expect things to go the way I want (at least not all the time). I’m learning to accept that fact and I’m trying to go with the flow now. My husband and our children are the best and most wonderful persons in my life, and I want to be there for them. I want them to be happy and I want to be happy with them.
As I was driving to work today, I was listening to Klove and they had a word of the day, and it was Philippians 4:9, “And do what you learned and received from me—what I told you and what you saw me do. And the God who gives peace will be with you”. I decided to come home and read a little bit more about this and it’s a wonderful passage. It’s very positive and invites us to share what we learn. I’m sharing what I’ve been learning with you and with my family as well. I’m also trying to put into practice what I’m learning so that I can be a better person and a better wife and mom.
It’s only been 6 days of starting this challenge but I feel great that I did. And I’m learning more about our father and his word and teachings. It actually makes me feel very calm and centered whenever I read the Bible. And I feel happy and alive too. Yesterday we had the opportunity to go to the park and it was a wonderful day, the weather was right, the company was perfect, and I felt full of hope; it was a wonderful experience. We got to slow down from our usual routine and I thought it would be great if we do it more often.
I hope, if you are having trouble in your heart, that you do something to make it better. Talk to someone who will listen, go to church, read the Bible or another book that will make you feel better, do yoga or exercise to relax, slow down and take deep breaths because life is short and we need to let go of anything bad and be happy. Love yourself and love your family, but first love and seek God.
